Travel to Auckland New Zealand on a Budget

Auckland, New Zealand is wonderful place to visit. If you have unlimited funds the best place to stay is Hilton (and it is really worth it) but if you have better ideas how you can spend several hundred New Zealand dollars and at a ration nearly one US for two NZ dollars it can really take you a long way you can and should look for a cheaper option for accommodation. Unfortunately mid level hotels in New Zealand are not so good and sometimes outright bad. In the contrary you can find good affordable motels some with spas in some rooms. Another accommodation option worth exploring is backpacker hostels. Above NZ $140 per week you can find clean pleasant hostels some situated in the centre of Auckland and some other major cities too. Most good hostels offer private rooms with bathroom too.
Most backpacker’s hostels have web-sites best approach is check YHA, YMCA or the like web-sites for information and booking. The better motels can be usually booked trough one of the motel chains.
Best rule to follow in New Zealand and any other country: never go for the cheapest accommodation you are bond to be disappointed, shoot for the golden mean.
